If you are reading this there is a big chance that you have watched on YouTube some great performances of Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D. There are a few great interpretations of this piece of music on electric guitar because lately it became the song of choice and the speed test of young guitars all over the net.
So here’s Gustavo Guerra’s version of Canon song, a version that I adore, since compared to other versions, he has that easiness of playing the guitar that allows him to play around and add value to the song itself. From the first notes, using the whammy bar puts him above the rest.

Well, he seems to be some kind of star in Brasil, he shared the stage with Paul Gilbert on a 1 on 1 jam, which kind of gives him the “social proof”, right?

I don’t know who are you speaking about.
I can think of two korean guys here: Sungha Jung, http://youtube.com/watch?v=FRWU2DysF30 or this guy over here http://youtube.com/watch?v=QjA5faZF1A8.
I put these 2 movies because the first, with Gustavo Guerra, I consider to be the best interpretation I have heard so far, beside technique he has an easiness to play the guitar that allows him to do just about anything he wants wit his electric guitar.
The second is a joke, not an interpretation and actually makes the subject of this post.
