Welcome Bach(k), Man!

In: Skid Row Thursday Nov 13,2008

sebastian bach, skid row,axl rose, guns n rosesFollowing the post about Axl’s new album, I got my hands on Angel Down, Sebastian Bach’s new record.

I must tell you, I am impressed, if you want, at least because of the phenomenal voice of this guy. I have always loved Skid Row and Bach never lost one bit of his voice over the years, sounds like he is still 19-20 yo. Usually, after a certain age, singers cool down and take easier paths, see Bon Jovi, for example. Screaming is not in trends anymore, after all…

Says who!? Bach wasn’t told about it… Don’t ask him to be tender and smooth, cause his voice is not made for this. Instead, he will burn down the house with one single scream. This is what he does and man, he rules.

From my personal point of view, Sebastian Bach is like the perfect voice for metal, next to Eric Adams (Manowar), Michael Kiske (Helloween) and Dickinson (Maiden). And I will add here Mike Matijevic (Steelheart), I really consider him as one of the “might have been” leading rock voices around. He only missed the train, what a pity…(man, if you read this, you rule!)

Coming back to Bach (not THAT Bach, for one of my dear friends who looked at me a bit lost when I showed him a picture with Sebastian Bach in a rock magazine about 10 years ago), I am happy he made that record and I think the friendship of Axl Rose helped here because no matter what he said, he didn’t manage to make that record until this year. I can only imagine them speaking…come on,man, are you gonna put that record out or what? hm…I don’t know…only if you’ll do it too…aa…wtf, OK! Let’s do it!

I recommend you listen Falling into you, a lovely power ballad and Back in the saddle, to see how well his voice works with Axl’s voice…

Here’s another one, this is what I could find on YT

By the way, are the 80’s coming back?

Yes - I watched it: “Gilmore Girls”. I love his music and even appreciated his scenes in “Gilmore Girls”. Rather funny actor if you ask me. He

Considering he spent a lot of time on Broadway, I guess he has a few tricks in his bag now. But still, he is a musician, not an actor…

I know. And he is great as a musician.

Thanks, Bell, his voice is indeed amazing especially after all these years. One of the best metal voices around.

Ba’jeeeezuz, you are absolutely right about the voice: ‘never thought about it in this way… hmmm.

By the way, are the 80’s coming back?

I hope so. My wife is bonkers for the eighties’ metal. She would actually get up and rock the house if what you ask is so.

    Thanks for the insight.

His voice is still awesome. Skid Row rocks, I still listen to their music.

I watched the episodes of a show, I can’t remember the name, super band or something. It had Ted Nugent, Jason Bonham, Scott Ian, Evan Seinfeld and of course Sebastian Bach.
I also saw him on a show where he was to sing country music.

Both shows were interesting but I could not get over how immature Sebastian Bach acted. He acts like he is still king of the hill and selling millions.

He acts like a spoiled child. It seems that if he wants to make it big again he would act a little more mature and maybe listen to some new ideas since he has done nothing for years. He has one of the best voices ever! He just needs to adjust the arrogant attitude so he can work well with others to get out there on top again.

@PD: I love the music of the 80’s, I hope it come back again.

@Cheap guitars: Well, I have also seen a few videos with him acting foolish, I guess it happens to spoiled artists at one moment, money, fame are not good when the personality is still growing. Look at footballers, soccer players, they all act foolish at one moment or another because they have money and probably feel they are the best and the world spins around them. But we all need to grow up at one moment. Indeed, Sebastian Bach needs to think of a good strategy in order to come back again. He has a great voice, visibility, fame, he could do it with a proper guidance from a good manager and with mature planning, I guess. But if you say he still lacks maturity…

Yeah, I have seen myself a couple of these, what was he thinking, really?
