As you may already know, I am not a fan of stompboxes, I rather use digital processors, multi effects, “all in one” boxes, like the BOSS I currently own…
That is why I try to keep an eye on the “toy store”, and I mean BOSS here…But not only as I started to get interested more and more in solutions from Line6, to match my guitar.
So, this time I said to introduce you Micro BR , the smallest PRO studio!.
Well, what can I say? It is just a bit larger than an iPod, has 4 playback tracks and plus 32 V-Tracks, an SD Card slot, onboard multi-effects, built-in rhythm patterns, a tuner, MP3 compatibility, USB, and more.
I guess it’s the perfect guitar accessory to take with you on the road, next to your guitar, if you have that magic idea that you don’t want to miss. I know I have been there a lot of times, and I just use my mobile to record it, which is not always the best thing…
Trying to learn more about it, I landed on this site here, BR for guitarists, and what do you know? Micro BR has siblings (see for example BR1200CD), bigger and better.
As for the price, as listed by Amazon, BOSS MICRO-BR comes at $186(aff).
And a simple search on YouTube brings you an interesting set of videos about how to record, mix and master your recordings. Cool!
Any of you owns such a toy? Any personal, hands-on review?

That is one sweet little guitar processor- guitar studio in a little package. It amazes me how little the electronics are getting but how they do so much more.
Thanks for tuning me on to this Ovidiu. This is definitely a must have.
I am having trouble with the Micro BR comes at $186 link working.
Cheers,
Kirk

Well, Kirk, thanks for telling me, it was an error there in the link and indeed, didn’t work. It is fixed now, thanks again!
Indeed, this toy it is something I would also like to have at home to play with
Man, and we’re supposed to be adults…

I own one of these…have had it for about a year…and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I take it everywhere with me. It’s as much a part of my gear as a guitar and picks. I’ve used it to record rehearsals, and even work out song parts on it. My only real issue is that it’s not rechargeable. so, I carry a few extra batteries around, but really, it sounds good. I use it with some headphones to practice without disturbing anyone, and have even recorded a couple songs. There a nice download application that lets you pull tracks off of the MicroBR and put them on your computer to share with friends too.

Cool, John, thanks! I must admit I was looking to such gear to record your rehearsal, to see what doesn’t work!
What batteries it needs? Can’t you find some rechargeable batteries for it?

It takes AA batteries…easy enough to throw a 4 pack in the gig bag (along with the AAA’s for the wireless). Just would have been extra nice to be able to plug it in to a usb port and have it charge. Just being picky.

Not picky, I understand you. Recently I have received a gift for my little girl, a baby bouncer that has all kind of features, top quality, bounces, sings, makes noises, etc and it is plugged into the 220 V socket. AND IT HAS ANOTHER FEATURE: you can use the massage (!!) feature. OK…now imagine that in order to use it, you need an extra battery! WTF?!! It is already plugged!!
That reminds me of a joke with the Russian fisherman in a boat on Volga river. He catches the golden fish who tells him to let him free and he will fulfill 3 wishes.
The fisherman doesn’t lose time thinking and starts:
1)Aaa… give me a glass of Vodka! (Done)
2)Aaa..make this river here a river of Vodka! (Done)
3) aaa…a…a…Ah! Yes, give me another glass of Vodka!

Has anyone here compared it (hands on) to the Tascam GT-R1?
The Tascam isn’t a true multitrack, but has many of the same features, can overdub and seems to be considered more of a serious field recorder.
The BR has the most features of anything in that size/price range; however, I’m afraid I might be disappointed by the mic recording quality vs. the Tascam or Zoom recorders.

Tiny and powerful…you just can’t argue that
