Today I have been in the mood for Ozzy. I don’t know why but I listened quite a few of his songs.
The fact is I am a bit intrigued by how this guy looks and acts on stage. I know he was a great artist, had a lot of shows, a lot of fans, still has, as a matter of fact, but I also know he used to drink a lot back in his time and do a lot of drugs, and it must have had a large impact on his body cause now I have the impression that now on stage he looks like he’s just been hit in the head with a hammer or something. He looks groggy, dizzy, I don’t know…He’s old, man, but he’s a product and products must sell…
The fact is that a couple of days ago I was looking at a picture of Keith Richards on Stratoblogster’s site , Keith is 65, looks older than he is, but man, he’s there and lives every second of his stage presence. Ozzy looks like he’s going to collapse or…fall asleep! Damn!
However, I love some of his songs, like for ex Dreamer, I was watching the video on YT a couple of months ago and I was speaking about it with my teacher of photography, telling him about how they must have worked a lot on getting that younger face for Ozzy, especially when the solo starts. He laughed and pointed me to the fact that the particular picture I was speaking about is a still frame, it is a picture, not an actual movie frame, probably taken in his earlier years and added in the clip with a slow motion, to give the impression it is part of it.
Pay attention when the solo starts, around 2:43 and let me know what you think!
Well?

Like the video. First time seeing it.
The picture is odd.
Seeing him in the MTV show The Osborne’s , he has the body and moves of a 90 year old.
I don’t think I would still be alive if I had done the drugs and drinking he has. His liver has to be shot and there can’t be many brain cells left.
I have almost all his cd’s and like his music, it just seems he is being used for every dollar he can make.
I believe Sharon(his wife, manager) will work the poor guy until he drops dead on stage!!

She seems to be a very good manager after all, he has a very interesting and active career. Just that I have the impression he should rest. The fact is that he’s not that old, he’s born in December 48, that makes him 60 years old. He does look older when he moves, indeed…

I didn’t see the still picture, but I have to say that this is one of the strangest video’s that I have seen in a long time. He goes from a Lennon kind of look to that black and white strangeness (very strange makeup) I haven’t followed his music that much, but he doesn’t look healthy or happy for that matter.

I agree about how Ozzy looks but I still don’t understand how he remembers the words to all of his songs. He doesn’t even look like he knows where he is, but he still performs.

I guess after all this time it comes natural, after you played a song for like 500.000 times

What this boils down to in my observance — “Is Evil an Act?”
You see, I admit having been taken for rides most of my life; you know by misdirection, silly business deals, employer’s cynicism and such. I let it happen. It is part of being high on life. Like me and us, Ozzy is high because of the implied “highness.” No?
I agree 99.99%, Mr Ovidiu. Leave him alone. He is like old drama paintings of the “Tragic Clown” crying for his quickened life as it goes passing into obscurity… married to a Vixen who rides the air of their spawn… you know the type?
No? Well I’m referring to Santa Clause. Ozzy is old St Nich. So yeah — leave him alone for god’s Sake.

You know, now that you point it out, I think you are right. Though, I really don’t think ozzy looks his age at all, even live. Granted, it’s been a few years since I went to his show… but he was very active and entertaining. In fact, to me, he appears more young in concert. JM2C
