I have been thinking about writing a page like this since a few days because there were questions that I have been asked and questions that might be asked, so, I will put here a list with questions and answers, as they come.
Q: How do you link to a site from your post, with regular DoFollow link or with NoFollow?
A: Depends on who I link to. I regularly link PEOPLE (blogs, websites that shows real people behind) with DoFollow and I link INSTITUTIONS, LARGE SITES, NEWS ON GOOGLE, ETC with NoFollow. So, if I link to something you have posted on your blog, you get a regular, valid link. However, a reference to large media sites will get NoFollow.
Q: What is NoFollow and DoFollow?
A: NoFollow is an attribute that you can add to your link and the link won’t be counted by Google as a link to that particular site you are linking to. For ex: <a href=”somesitehere” rel=”nofollow”>
Q: What is Digg?
A: Digg.com is a social community site where people submit links to articles, blog posts, pictures, movies, etc that get voted by Digg users. That means to get a digg (to get a vote). Once the article is dugg enough times (usually between 40 and 130(?, variable, depends on topic, competition, etc) ) it makes it to the front page of Digg. Once there, the high volume of traffic the post receives will probably crash your server, causing what it is caused the “Digg effect”
Q: What is RSS? Why should I subscribe to RSS?
A: Simple: RSS is pure information striped from all the layout and fancy stuff. You subscribe to it using a RSS reader such as Google Reader and you get all our articles on your Google Reader without actually visiting this site. The advantage is visible when you read more sites everyday and visiting all of them may be time consuming. This way you can read news from as many sites as you want from one single spot - your Google Reader account. So, subscribe to RSS by clicking here!
For a more complex information regarding RSS see this site here.
Q: Who designed your theme and how much did you pay for it?
A: This theme is designed by me. It is based on the layout of a free theme designed by Design Disease (see link in the bottom of this page), but it doesn’t look at all like the original theme, only the 2 columns layout idea remained, but I kept the link in the bottom of the page as a respect sign for the original designer.
